Job Title: High-speed-Cable Sales Manager/Director

Position:

Genesis is seeking an ambitious and results-driven technical sales professional to help us grow revenue by bringing on new customers. This is a unique opportunity for a highly self-motivated technical sales professional with a successful record of accomplishment, ability to efficiently conduct outreach activities, identify potential opportunities, qualify and manage the sales process through to signed agreements. Developing and building strong technical relationships with customer supply chain and engineering teams to ensure the customer satisfaction with Genesis business and technical services. The individual hired in this position will be the first key professionals to build the company’s west coast team together and will have the opportunity to shape the future of Genesis.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead North America business development initiatives and sales efforts for selling Genesis’s high-speed datacenter and enterprise IT interconnects products, which including active optical cables (AOC) and Direct Attach Copper (DAC) products with a focus on large and hyper-scale data center customers, datacenter integrators, and/or distribution channels.
  • Develop and execute the annual high-speed DAC/AOC sales and business growth plan, providing sales forecasts, ensure they are met by the team, and continuing to manage plan as product and market dynamics change.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement the execution of overall DAC/AOC strategy throughout the organization.
  • Lead High-speed DAC/AOC business development and sales efforts: S&OP process, sales, and market programs in conjunction with operations and related departments.
  • Establish high-level customer contacts and relationships with Distribution, End Users, and Strategic Partners.
  • Identify, qualify business potential, and develop revenue opportunities for new campaigns, services, channels, products and technology partners that will generate and capture new revenue and profit by leveraging the Genesis’s strengths and expertise.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for existing and new products in conjunction with the Marketing/Engineering Department to win both new business and acquire new customers. Provide inputs on Marketing and Engineering programs and collateral as needed.
  • Foster close alignment and provide visibility and transparency with Sales Leadership, Engineering, Product Management and Marketing teams to ensure efficient and effective sales and marketing plans, product trainings and technical services, and promotional planning.
  • Generates sales leads, following up on internally-generated existing leads and supporting existing customers.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong capabilities to identify potential opportunities and develop and execute the sales strategies and tactics needed to meet projected sales and year-to-year growth.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in sales, business development, and/or product marketing of related products with a proven track-record in managing and developing annual $50M+ sales/business opportunities in the data center cabling infrastructure industry.
  • Excellent cross-functional team collaboration and matrix management skills, including strong communications, presentation, negotiation, vision, prioritization and interpersonal skills, along with proficient English language fluency.
  • A solid understanding of data center market: products, players, technologies, and contacts in related markets.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, market trending, and computer literate including CRM and MS Office.
  • Excellent planning, organizing and project management skills (forecasting and funnel management).
  • Demonstrated motivation for business development, the ability to identify customer needs and grow revenue.
  • Strong prospecting, sales planning and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. Comfortable presenting to groups and individuals.
  • Strong teamwork ethic, with exceptional ability to work well with peer engineers, operations, customers, vendors, and professionals at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the storage networking, Ethernet or high-performance computing standards.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering is required, with an MBA preferred.
  • Willingness to travel in region up to 40%.
