RF (Radio Frequency) Shielding

Why Genesis offers superior service

We rely on electronics for many areas of our everyday life.  However, some electronics can be affected by intentional radiators (i.e., Smartphones, CB radios, Amateur radio, etc.)  Therefore, manufacturers use RF (Radio Frequency) shielding to help block unwanted emissions that may affect the performance of every day electronics that we depend upon such as:

  • Anti-lock brakes
  • Cable Telephony (DOCSIS)
  • WiFi Thermostats
  • Home Security Systems
  • Computers/Notebooks/Tablets
  • Auto Infotainment Systems
  • Avionics

Measuring & Testing RF

A method of measuring the effectiveness of the shielding is to perform RF Immunity (sometimes referred to as RF Susceptibility) testing (See below for typical).

The RF Immunity levels are measured in Volts/Meter (or V/m) and now many consumer products are requiring 7V ~ 10 V/m levels of RF Immunity.

Genesis has provided the technical assistance and superior RF shielding designs to numerous OEM applications over the past decade.  As the minimum levels of Immunity increase, you need a company that has been able to repeatedly meet the challenged to the ever increasing shielding requirements.
